Our Management Team

SportsRox has assembled a core management team capable of evolving and implementing our business plan. Listed below are key members of the current team.

Erik Chan, Founder, Chief Creative Officer and Director

During the last 15 years, Erik Chan has been responsible for the management and production of hundreds of multimedia and web-based products. Prior to founding SportsRox in 2007 Erik was managing partner/creative director of the bConnects Agency, an interactive agency he co-founded in 2002. Prior to bConnects Erik was Creative Director of ZapMe! Inc. As the company's lead creative officer, he spearheaded development of marketing pieces for clients including Gatorade, Kodak, Xerox and the US Navy. Erik also worked at Stormfront Studios, 911 Entertainment and Rocket Science Games. In art director and senior digital artist roles, he worked on projects such as Madden Football 97 and Microsoft's Interactive TV Network.

Donald R. Scribner, Executive Vice President

With more than 29 years of senior and executive management experience, coupled with entrepreneurial ventures, Don possesses a proven track record of success. Don held a variety of sales, sales training and management positions at Lanier Business Products from 1979 through 1989. From 1989 to 1991 Don worked as a Senior Sales Executive at Intellicall, Inc., an emerging equipment technology company in the telecommunications sector. In 1991 he joined Impact Telecommunication Corporation (ITC) as an equity partner and Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Product Development. From 1994 through 2007 Don worked for ILD Telecommunications. Don began as Vice President of Sales and was promoted to Senior Vice President and head of ILD's largest operating division, Outsource Services in 1999. Don oversaw all areas of operations, sales and marketing, serving thousands of satisfied customers.

Oliver Simons, Vice President

Since the late 1990s, Oliver helped to found and develop multiple high growth companies. Utilizing two decades of private and professional experience in sales and marketing, business development and information technology, Oliver is poised to bring his expertise to a new online demographic. Oliver helped co-found an Educational Internet Company called ZapMe! in 1997 and aided the company in going public in October 1999, raising over $100 million. The Company established (at the time) the largest private satellite network in the United States, encompassing 2,200 sites within eighteen months in conjunction with Gilat Satellite Networks. Oliver has been involved with strategic sales and business development since acquiring a BS in Computer Technology, along with an MBA and a BA from the University of Southern Colorado.

Jon Joss, Board Chairman and Advisor

Jon Joss is senior vice president of Benefits Consulting Services at Fidelity Investments. He has 20 years of retirement benefits experience, including extensive retirement strategy and design, funding analysis, savings plans and health care consulting for mid-size to large organizations in both the private and public sectors. Jon is responsible for Fidelity's benefits consulting business in the Western region. Jon is the father of four boys who are active in many different sports. Jon has been coaching baseball for the last ten years as well as serving on the Orinda Baseball Association board as President and Commissioner.

Karen C. Francis, Director and Advisor

Karen was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at full-service advertising and marketing agency Publicis & Hal Riney, based in San Francisco. Currently Karen is consulting with venture capital firms and Silicon Valley companies as well as serving on non-profit and corporate boards. Karen was Vice President of Ford Motor Company responsible for global e-business strategies, customer relationship management, and export operations. She also held several positions at General Motors, most recently as the General Manager of the Oldsmobile division. Prior to joining General Motors, Karen served as Vice President of Marketing at Berol Corporation and was a consultant at Bain & Company. She began her career at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jeffrey J. Holland, Advisor

Jeff is a Managing Director at Seacoast Capital, a mezzanine and equity investment firm he co-founded in 1994. Previously, Jeff was a Senior Investment Manager of Signal Capital and opened the San Francisco office in 1989. Prior to joining Signal Capital in1987, Jeff was a consultant with The MAC Group, Inc., where he worked on strategy engagements in the financial services industry, and Andersen Consulting. He received a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In addition to serving on the boards of several Seacoast and Signal Capital portfolio companies, Mr. Holland is on the board of the Harvard Business School Association of Northern California.
